Basketball Game Preview: Johnson Knights vs. Dawson County Tigers

The Johnson Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Dawson County Tigers at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Johnson is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Greater Atlanta Christian and fell 87-26. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 536th, while the Spartans are ranked 101st).

Meanwhile, Dawson County played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Pickens, falling 77-40. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-14.

Dawson County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Johnson came up short against Dawson County when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 65-55. Can Johnson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
