Baseball Recap: Salem Baptist Christian's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Salem Baptist Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Oak Ridge Military Academy on Tuesday. The Salem Baptist Christian Vikings put the hurt on the Oak Ridge Military Academy Eagles with a sharp 17-4 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Ck Boyles was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, Reece Pleasant was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eli Hedrick, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Salem Baptist Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Salem Baptist Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Salem Baptist Christian will head out to face off against Caldwell Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Ridge Military Academy, they will welcome North Forsyth at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
