Basketball Game Preview: Colonial Christian Cougars vs. Mooresville Christian Eagles

The Colonial Christian Cougars will square off against the Mooresville Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Colonial Christian faced off against Crosspointe Christian Academy on Tuesday. Colonial Christian fell 41-30 to Crosspointe Christian Academy. The Cougars were down 35-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the defeat, Colonial Christian got top-tier performance from Stinna Grubb, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Grubb also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Colonial Christian is 3-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 2-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Mooresville Christian hadn't done well against Tabernacle Christian recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Mooresville Christian walked away with a 37-28 victory over Tabernacle Christian.

Colonial Christian's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Mooresville Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Colonial Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mooresville Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 29-25 victory.
