            Baseball Recap: Letcher County Central Cougars vs. Pike County Central Hawks        
        
		
        
        
            While Letcher County Central's  victory against Pike County Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Hawks  3-1. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive  victory against them.
 Jaydon Wright and  Quentin Williams made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing,  Wright   didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Meanwhile,  Williams   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. What's more,  he posted three  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in March. At bat,  Wright  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  RBI, while  Williams  got on base  in two of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Dawson Kincer, who  went 1-for-3 with three  stolen bases and two  runs. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Clay Hall, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Letcher County Central pushed their record up to 12-4 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pike County Central, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Letcher County Central will host Pikeville  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Pike County Central, they will square off against East Ridge at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
