Basketball Game Preview: Sands Mustangs vs. Whiteface Antelopes

The Sands Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Whiteface Antelopes at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. Whiteface took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sands, who comes in off a win.

Sands is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Smyer to the tune of 75-11 on Tuesday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Whiteface entered their game against New Home on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Antelopes took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leopards.

The victory made it two in a row for Sands and bumps their season record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Whiteface, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Sands came up short against Whiteface when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 52-46. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
