Soccer Game Preview: Lewisville vs. Marcus

Lewisville is 0-10 against Marcus since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lewisville Farmers will face off against the Marcus Marauders at 7:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lewisville is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Little Elm.

Lewisville's goal came courtesy of Kaitlyn Campos, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, Marcus faced Coppell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Marcus fell just short of Coppell by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Marauders couldn't quite close it out.

Lewisville's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Marcus, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

Lewisville suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Marcus when the teams last played back in January. Can Lewisville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
