Baseball Recap: Groton School Turns Things Around After Road Loss

Groton School's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Governor's Academy on Saturday. Groton School never let the Milton Academy Mustangs get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Groton School has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Milton Academy, too.

The result came thanks to Kiran Sen's shutout, as he gave up just two hits.

On the hitting side, Yuri Tanaka was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley DiModica, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Groton School's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Milton Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Groton School will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lawrence Academy at 2:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for Milton Academy, they will challenge Tournament Opponent on Wednesday.
