Baseball Game Preview: Gabrielino Eagles vs. Marshall Eagles

Gabrielino is 2-8 against Marshall since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Gabrielino will be playing at home against Marshall at 3:30 p.m. Gabrielino will be strutting in after a victory while Marshall will be coming in after a defeat.

While Gabrielino's win against Arroyo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Knights 3-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Gabrielino's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Robert Mercado, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Marshall fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against South El Monte on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 12-7 to South El Monte.

Liam Wahlstrom was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Romero, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Gabrielino, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
