Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Academy Heroes vs. ALA - West Foothills Guardians

The Heritage Academy Heroes will challenge the ALA - West Foothills Guardians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Academy has given up an average of 62.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Heritage Academy is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 72-31 loss at the hands of Phoenix Christian.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask ALA - West Foothills). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Wickenburg 97-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Guardians.

Heritage Academy better keep an eye on Cameron Lauer. He was instrumental in ALA - West Foothills' win, dropping a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Lauer has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 56% every time he's hit the court this season. Blake Lunt was another key player, going 6-for-7 en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

ALA - West Foothills was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wickenburg only racked up nine.

The victory got ALA - West Foothills back to even at 2-2. As for Heritage Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Heritage Academy strolled past ALA - West Foothills in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 87-71. Do the Heroes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Guardians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
