Softball Game Preview: Fox Chapel Foxes vs. Mars Fightin' Planets

The Fox Chapel Foxes will head out on the road to face off against the Mars Fightin' Planets at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Fox Chapel is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering New Castle just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 9-8.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Mars' offense. They lost 15-0 to New Castle on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Fightin' Planets in their meetings with the Hurricanes: they've now lost three in a row.

Mars' loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Fox Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2-1.

Fox Chapel beat Mars 6-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foxes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
