Baseball Game Preview: Metro Christian Patriots vs. Edison Eagles

The Metro Christian Patriots will take on the Edison Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Metro Christian will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Holland Hall on Tuesday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Dutch with a sharp 10-4 victory. Considering the Patriots have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Edison made easy work of Memorial on Tuesday and carried off a 13-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won seven in a row.

Metro Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Edison, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Metro Christian took their win against Edison in their previous matchup back in March of 2017 by a conclusive 13-3 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
