Basketball Recap: Kingman Academy's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Kingman Academy was riding high fresh off their 68-33 takedown of St. John Paul II Catholic last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kingman Academy Tigers took an 83-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northland Prep Academy Spartans on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (68), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northland Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaden Joiner, who went 8 of 17 en route to 25 points. Joiner is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Simon Pickup was another key player, going 8 for 9 on his way to 21 points.

Kingman Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7. As for Northland Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Kingman Academy Tigers take on the Chino Valley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northland Prep Academy, they will square off against Round Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northland Prep Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Round Valley likes a good challenge.
