Basketball Recap: Golden Valley Takes a Loss

Golden Valley lost against Del Oro on January 8th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Golden Valley Bulldogs took a blow against the Del Oro Suns, falling 81-54.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Del Oro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabriel Bocardo, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 17 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Bocardo a new career-high. Mark Villa was another key player, as he made all 6 shots he took racking up 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Golden Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Del Oro, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Golden Valley will welcome Mira Monte at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Golden Valley is facing Mira Monte at the right time seeing as Mira Monte is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Del Oro has already played their next matchup, a 58-46 win against Delano on the 27th.
