Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Legacy Christian Academy

Legacy Christian Academy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Greenhill Hornets with a sharp 12-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

Abby Ashbrook and Blair Ehmer were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ashbrook pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Ehmer pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Ashbrook went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Ehmer went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. That's the most hits Ashbrook has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Mosley, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 13 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Lynlee Kennedy, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Legacy Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenhill only posted an OBP of .222.

Legacy Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.25 hits in those games compared to only 5.5 in the others. As for Greenhill, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legacy Christian Academy will venture away from home to square off against John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in John Paul II's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six games. As for Greenhill, they will head out on the road to challenge Prince of Peace at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
