Baseball Recap: Fort Kent Triumphs

Fort Kent's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Houlton Shiretowners 9-8. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Shiretowners recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Adrian Robichaud and Reed Michaud were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Robichaud pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Michaud tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Robichaud went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Michaud got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Michaud also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was James Lamarre, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Kyle Paradis also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Fort Kent's record is now 3-6. As for Houlton, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fort Kent beat the Shiretowners by a score of 26-9 later that day.
