Recap: Cholla Chargers vs. Cienega Bobcats
Even though the Cienega Bobcats scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, the Cholla Chargers still came out on top. Cholla took their contest against Cienega 77-69. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cholla.
Cyree Jenkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerry Mendoza, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Cienega's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Moore, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Pascal Hussein was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Cholla is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Cienega, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
Cholla and Rincon/University will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rincon/University is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Cienega will take on Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tucson High Magnet School is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games.
