Basketball Recap: Eastern Randolph Wildcats vs. Providence Grove Patriots        
        
		
            
 If the Eastern Randolph Wildcats were riding high  off their  54-8 takedown of the Trinity Bulldogs last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Eastern Randolph's  rough  58-35 loss to the Patriots  on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Eastern Randolph was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in February of 2023.
 Eastern Randolph's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Ziera Watson, who  scored 15 points along with four  steals, and  Kenly Whitaker who  scored 14 points along with six  rebounds and two  steals. Watson is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed three or more in the last three games she's  played.
 Eastern Randolph  struggled to work together and  finished the game with only four  assists. They  were crushed by their opponents in that department as Providence Grove  racked up 15  assists.
 It was another big night for  BROOKE INGRAM, who  scored 20 points along with six  rebounds and three  steals for Providence Grove. INGRAM continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  MAILEY WAY, who  scored 14 points along with two  steals.
 Eastern Randolph's loss was  their seventh straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 3-14. Those losses could be blamed on the team's  offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.6 points per game. As for Providence Grove, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
 Eastern Randolph will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against the Tigers at 6:00  p.m. Randleman has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 171 points over their last three matches. As for Providence Grove, they will head out on the road to  take on  the Eagles at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked  in North Carolina (Uwharrie Charter is ranked 267th, while the Patriots are ranked 271st).
