Recap: West Marion Trojans vs. St. Patrick Fighting Irish
The West Marion Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by St. Patrick on the road and fell 77-41. While losing is never fun, West Marion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while St. Patrick is ranked 112th).
Matt Krass was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with six rebounds and three steals for St. Patrick. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Krass has scored at least a third of St. Patrick's points. Another player making a difference was Alex Triplett, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
West Marion bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for St. Patrick, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Marion will take on Mendenhall at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Patrick, they will be playing at home against Perry Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
