Clewiston finds home court redemption against Avon Park

Recap: Clewiston Tigers vs. Avon Park Red Devils

There's no place like home for the Clewiston Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Avon Park with a sharp 54-34 victory on Friday. This was payback for Clewiston, who suffered a 59-22 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clewiston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Milan Holomes, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Abria Askew, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Avon Park saw an underclassman step up: Tytianna Allen scored 18 points. Allen scored a full 52.9% of Avon Park's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keivelisse Soto, who scored 8 points.

The win got Clewiston back to even at 1-1. As for Avon Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Clewiston will head out on the road to face off against Sebring at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Sebring focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday. As for Avon Park, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Frostproof at 6:30 p.m.
