Basketball Game Preview: Stevens Raiders vs. Yankton Bucks/Gazelles

The Stevens Raiders will face off against the Yankton Bucks/Gazelles at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Saturday, Stevens came up short against Brandon Valley and fell 52-39. The match marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Yankton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-47 heartbreaker at the hands of Pierre T.F. Riggs.

This is the second loss in a row for Stevens and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Yankton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Stevens won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, slipping by Yankton 40-39. Will Stevens repeat their success, or does Yankton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
