Football Recap: Scottsboro Takes a Loss

If Scottsboro was feeling good fresh off their 28-7 takedown of Arab two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats were dealt a 41-14 defeat at the hands of the Mars Hill Bible Panthers on Thursday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Scottsboro lost, don't look at Jacobi Edmonson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 57 yards and one score, and also picked up 37 receiving yards.

Hudson Higgins produced another solid effort rushing for 83 yards and three touchdowns for Mars Hill Bible. Higgins is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Lawson Frederick was another key player, rushing for 17 yards and one TD.

Scottsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Mars Hill Bible, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Scottsboro and Mars Hill Bible should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Wildcats will take on West Point at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th with a big rank advantage (75 vs. 213). Meanwhile, Mars Hill Bible (ranked 34th) will meet Whitesburg Christian Academy (ranked 310th) at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th.
