Detroit Country Day came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Seaholm/Groves Maples. That's more bragging rights for the Yellowjackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Detroit Country Day took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-15.

Elise Hiemstra paced Detroit Country Day's offense, picking up six kills. Hiemstra got some help from Payton Woodruff and her 14 assists. Hiemstra also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Grace Cassise, racking up three apiece.

Detroit Country Day's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Seaholm/Groves, they now have a losing record of 1-2-2.
