Soccer Recap: Palisades Comes Up Short

Palisades was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the South Mecklenburg Sabres, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Sabres are ranked 90th).

Palisades' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for South Mecklenburg, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palisades will host Olympic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palisades will be up against Olympic's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.78 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for South Mecklenburg, they will be playing at home against Cuthbertson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
