Elmore County kept a clean sheet against Chilton County on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Tigers. Give Elmore County's defense some credit: that's the team's seventh straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Cadi Crews, who's now up to 15 this season.

Elmore County pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matchups. As for Chilton County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-15-1 record this season.

Elmore County didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-2 win against Holtville on the 15th. As for Chilton County, they will square off against Sylacauga at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sylacauga will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Chilton County surely won't give up without a fight.
