Baseball Recap: Toms River North Victorious

Toms River North came out on top against Brick Township on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Mariners skirted past the Green Dragons 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Mariners: when they faced off against the Green Dragons on Saturday, they had to take a 8-7 loss.

Ian St. Luce was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Mason Ciullo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Toms River North and bumps their season record up to 6-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Brick Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5-1.

Toms River North wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-3 defeat against Point Pleasant Beach on the 1st. As for Brick Township, they will welcome Barnegat at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
