Shelby extended their postseason success on Friday against Lincolnton. They blew past the Wolves 30-0. The result was nothing new for the Golden Lions, who have now won ten matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Shelby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lan Farmer, who threw for 228 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 83 yards. That's the most rushing yards Farmer has posted since back in August. Jonas Woods was in the mix as well, providing Shelby with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Shelby was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was Shelby's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Landon Hollifield and Grady Nodine, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. Shelby got some further help from Hollifield: he picked up 1.5 sacks, made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

The victory (which was Shelby's eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.3 points over those games. As for Lincolnton, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Shelby will host Kinston at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Golden Lions' defense better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 37.5 points per game this season. Lincolnton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
