Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Zionsville

Zionsville entered their tilt with Danville on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 3-0. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

The result came thanks to Kristin Evers's shutout, as she gave up just nine hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Zionsville let Olivia Kohler and Hadley Bray run wild. Kohler went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one double, while Bray went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that Kohler has hit this season.

Zionsville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Danville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.

Looking ahead, Zionsville will be playing at home against Noblesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Danville, they will welcome Lebanon at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
