Basketball Recap: Sweetwater Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kendall Tyler and Lilly Woodruff

Sweetwater was the 35-33 winner over Polk County when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sweetwater Wildcats fell to the Polk County Wildcats 41-37.

Lilly Woodruff and Kendall Tyler certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Woodruff dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards, while Tyler posted 13 points. The matchup was Woodruff's third in a row with at least ten points.

Sweetwater has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Polk County, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-11 record.

When Sweetwater and Polk County next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Sweetwater will try to stop McMinn Central's 18-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Polk County will take on Meigs County and their six-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
