Baseball Recap: Lamphere Beats Roseville for Their Third Straight Win

Lamphere waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Roseville Panthers as they made off with a 9-2 win. Considering the Rams have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Gavin Abbott was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Jack Huemann was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aidan Grzsikowski, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Lamphere was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lamphere's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Roseville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Lamphere will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
