Softball Game Preview: Kellis Cougars vs. McClintock Chargers

The Kellis Cougars will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the McClintock Chargers at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Kellis is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Youngker. Kellis won by a run and slipped past Youngker 23-22. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Roughriders: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Brooke Frinkle, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. Juliana Calleros was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Meanwhile, McClintock took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Glendale as McClintock made off with a 20-7 victory.
