Softball Recap: Fayetteville Has No Trouble Against Winterboro

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Fayetteville came out on top. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Winterboro Bulldogs on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

The result came thanks to Lauren Cook's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lucy Epperson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Fayetteville's record now sits at 8-10. As for Winterboro, they dropped their record down to 2-19 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Fayetteville will take on Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winterboro, they will challenge Comer at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
