Basketball Game Preview: Douglas Bulldogs vs. Sabino Sabercats

Douglas is 0-3 against Sabino since December of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Douglas got the win against ALA - Gilbert North by a conclusive 57-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Douglas' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Diego Lopez, who posted 17 points in addition to seven steals and six boards, and Ryan Felix, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 13 points and five steals. Those seven steals gave Lopez a new career-high. Santiago Machado was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Sabino had just enough and edged out Mountain View 64-62 on Wednesday.

Sabino has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Douglas, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.

Douglas couldn't quite get it done against Sabino in their previous meeting back in January as they fell 80-67. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
