Baseball Recap: Rosman Has No Trouble Against Robbinsville

Rosman had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Robbinsville on Tuesday. The Rosman Tigers were the clear victor by a 12-4 margin over the Robbinsville Black Knights. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kreed Smith and Eli McCall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Smith pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, McCall pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in strikeouts (four). At bat, Smith scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while McCall went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. McCall also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Rollins, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Slade Riddle also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Rosman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robbinsville only posted an OBP of .333.

Rosman's record now sits at 2-3. As for Robbinsville, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
