Basketball Recap: Carmel Takes a Loss

If Carmel was feeling good fresh off their 58-23 takedown of Lincoln last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Carmel Rams were dealt a 66-35 loss at the hands of the Yorktown Huskers on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Huskers: they've now lost five in a row.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylie Murphy, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Lotz, who went 6 of 13 en route to 12 points.

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Yorktown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Carmel has already played their next match (against Poughkeepsie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Yorktown has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Ketcham.
