St. Stephen's & St. Agnes gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the St. Mary's Ryken Knights by a score of 73-60. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcus Hancock led the charge by shooting 50% from the field en route to 22 points and five boards. That's the most points Hancock has posted since back in December of 2024. Julian Burgdolf was another key player, putting up 14 points and five assists.

St. Mary's Ryken's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes and Catholic will face off at 9:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The Saints will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Paul VI at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
