Softball Recap: St. Charles North Has No Trouble Against Naperville Central

St. Charles North won the last time they faced Naperville Central and things went their way on Saturday too. The North Stars blew past the Redhawks 11-5. Considering the North Stars have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Mackenzie Patterson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Julianna Kouba, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Charles North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for St. Charles North and bumps their season record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Naperville Central, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Charles North will face off against Batavia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Naperville Central, they will take on Metea Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Redhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
