Baseball Game Preview: Hamilton Big Blue vs. Middletown Middies

For the second straight game, Hamilton will face off against Middletown. Hamilton will challenge Middletown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hamilton lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Middletown, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. Hamilton put the hurt on Middletown with a sharp 15-3 win on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Big Blue.

Landen Ledford looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaleb Powers, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Austin Payne, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Hamilton has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Middletown, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Hamilton's way against Middletown in their previous meeting on Monday, as Hamilton made off with a 15-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hamilton since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
