Softball Game Preview: Aiken Fighting Green Hornets vs. North Augusta Yellow Jackets

Aiken hasn't had much luck against North Augusta recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Fighting Green Hornets are taking a road trip to square off against the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Aiken has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aiken is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They came up short against North Augusta, falling 13-2.

For North Augusta's part, Maddy Dickens looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Ayla Holmes was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Lyla Brummond was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

North Augusta hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
