Mount Union is 8-2 against Claysburg-Kimmel since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Mount Union will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Mount Union came out on top against Somerset on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Trojans took their matchup against the Eagles 8-3.

The team relied heavily on Julian Weirich, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Levi Hunsinger, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mount Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Claysburg-Kimmel came into Friday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Southern Huntingdon County with a sharp 12-1 win on Friday. The Bulldogs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 19-0).
Brayden Haney made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Haney was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Ayden Soler and Mason Campagna did most of the damage at the plate: Soler went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and one run, while Campagna went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Campagna has become a key player for Claysburg-Kimmel: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-8 otherwise. Gavin Treon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Mount Union pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mount Union has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Claysburg-Kimmel struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mount Union skirted past Claysburg-Kimmel 4-2 when the teams last played last Friday. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
