Baseball Recap: Herndon Beats Wakefield for Their Third Straight Victory

Herndon extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 11-3-1 in the process. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Wakefield Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 back in March.

As for Wakefield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

For Wakefield's part, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Beck, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Joseph Todd also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coincidentally, Herndon and Wakefield will both be playing Washington-Liberty the next time they take the field. The Hornets will head out to face the Generals at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
