Highland was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Hillcrest last Saturday. Highland put the hurt on Hillcrest with a sharp 9-1 victory. The Rams not only won last Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 29, 2024.

Alex Just was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Max Green looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, Keegan Butler was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Rockwood, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Highland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hillcrest only posted a batting average of .185.

Meanwhile, Jordan was able to grind out a solid win over Madison on Saturday, taking the game 6-3.

DANIEL STROPE spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits.

At the plate, CJ SUMNER was incredible, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was BECKHAM LIVINGSTON, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Highland's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Jordan, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
