Basketball Recap: Washington Starts off Right with Win over Westfall + How To Watch

Washington gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 55-41 win over the Westfall Mustangs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Lions also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeston Everhart, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 18 points. Bryson Heath was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.

Washington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Washington will be playing at home against Clinton-Massie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westfall, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-41 victory against Amanda-Clearcreek on the 29th.
