Softball Recap: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. Danville Blue Devils
Mt. Gilead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 26-1 to the Danville Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on Tuesday.
Mt. Gilead saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Livie Brannon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. Another was Makayla McKenzie, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
Mt. Gilead's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Danville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Coming up, Mt. Gilead will welcome Elgin at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Danville, they will head out to face off against West Holmes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.8 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of.
