Baseball Game Preview: Hoosic Valley Hawks vs. Saratoga Central Catholic Saints

For the second straight game, Hoosic Valley will face off against Saratoga Central Catholic. The Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hoosic Valley has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sunday just wasn't the day for Hoosic Valley's offense. They lost 27-0 to Saratoga Central Catholic on Sunday. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost five in a row.

For Saratoga Central Catholic's part, Pierce Byrne made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. The win keeps Saratoga Central Catholic at an undefeated 10-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average this season. As for Hoosic Valley, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
