Softball Game Preview: Slidell Tigers vs. Destrehan Wildcats

Slidell is 0-3 against Destrehan since April of 2019 but things could change on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Slidell Tigers duke it out with Destrehan Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. Slidell will be strutting in after a victory while Destrehan will be coming in after a defeat.

Slidell lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Fontainebleau, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. Slidell never let Fontainebleau get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Destrehan lost 13-3 to Mt. Carmel on Thursday.

Destrehan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Staton, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Slidell's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-9. As for Destrehan, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

Slidell couldn't quite get it done against Destrehan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can Slidell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
