Softball Game Preview: Spruce Timberwolves vs. Adams Cougars

The Spruce Timberwolves will face off against the Adams Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Spruce is looking for their season's first victory.

Spruce fell victim to Poteet and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 22-0 to the Pirates.

Meanwhile, Adams came up short against West Mesquite on Tuesday and fell 12-7. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Wranglers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Sharon Arambula spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and ten unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isabella Salmeron made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennifer Barraza, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Adams' loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Spruce, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
