It was a good run, but Meadowbrook Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-match winning streak on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redeemer Christian Lions. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 19-25, 25-15.

ELIZABETH MARSHALL paced Meadowbrook Academy's offense, picking up 18 kills. MARSHALL got some help from IVA FEARON and her 32 assists. FEARON was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Redeemer Christian found their leader in sophomore Hannah Walls, who had ten digs and eight assists.

Meadowbrook Academy's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 16-3. As for Redeemer Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Meadowbrook Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against St. John Lutheran on the 30th. As for Redeemer Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Riverside Christian on the 30th.
