Volleyball Game Preview: River Islands Riptide vs. Venture Academy Mustangs

The River Islands Riptide will face off against the Venture Academy Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

River Islands took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Aspire Langston Hughes Academy with a sharp 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: River Islands took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-11, 25-14.

Venture Academy not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1, 2024. They blew past Humphreys Able Charter 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Venture Academy was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12, 25-14.

River Islands pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Venture Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
