Basketball Recap: Neumann Takes a Loss

Neumann and First Baptist Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Neumann had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 28-27 to the First Baptist Academy Lions. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Celtics this season, with their most recent defeat being a 48-34 loss back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Neumann lost, don't look at Gracyn Crosby. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and four steals. Crosby is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 19 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mylee Van De wouw, who had seven points.

Zara Leilani Stewart was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points and four steals for First Baptist Academy.

Neumann's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for First Baptist Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which somehow still isn't as good as their 18-5 record this season.

Neumann does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for First Baptist Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-26 loss against Evangelical Christian on the 7th.
