Friday just wasn't the day for Waynesburg Central's offense. They had to suffer through a 34-0 loss at the hands of the Steel Valley Ironmen. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 408th, while the Ironmen are ranked 120th).

Teagen Crouse threw for 53 yards on five of 11 attempts. Jack Ricciuti was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards.

Da`Ron Barksdale was his usual excellent self, rushing for 160 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 79 yards and one touchdown for Steel Valley. Barksdale is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 109 every time he's taken the field this season. Steel Valley also got help from Tyrell Breland, who showed off his sure hands for 146 receiving yards.

Waynesburg Central now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Steel Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Waynesburg Central will head out on the road to take on Seton LaSalle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Steel Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shady Side Academy at 7:00 p.m.
